Enrichment Programs: More Than a Classroom

In addition to our core curriculum, all CDC students participate in dedicated enrichment classes throughout the week:

  • Chapel: Time dedicated to spiritual growth and understanding that they are loved and cherished by God.
  • Library: Developing a love for reading and literature.
  • Music: Introduction to rhythm, melody, and musical expression.
Physical Development: Focus on improving both gross and fine motor skills and following simple rules of safety.

Engaging Visitors and Themed Days

Throughout the school year, our students enjoy a variety of special visitors and activities that enhance the learning experience. In past years, we have hosted:

  • Educational musicians like Johnette Downing.
  • A puppeteer.
  • A group from the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO).
  • Science on the Geaux demonstrations.
  • Visits from our local Fire Department and Firefighters.
Children also have the opportunity to participate in several themed dress days and other fun community-building activities at our school.
